NJ DOT Plans to Upgrade Route 17 Intersections

On July 26, 2006, the Department of Transportation (DOT) held a public forum regarding Route 17 at the Hasbrouck Heights Municipal Council Chambers.  The purpose was to inform local residents, officials and the business community about the proposed construction on Route 17 at the following signalized intersections: Williams Avenue, Franklin/Malcolm, Union Avenue and Highland Cross. Sign for the Times

The Borough of Hasbrouck Heights installed a public notice sign at the Municipal Complex at the corner of The Boulevard and Central Avenue. The sign cost about $12,000, plus $3,000 for electrical and computer hook-up. It was funded from the capital ordinance for the construction of the municipal building. [Story & photo]

Heights Continues Walking School Bus

Lt. Thomas Archer of the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department announced that the “Walking School Bus” program will be expanded during the upcoming school year. Last year, students participated in a trial program from Euclid School on Tuesdays and Lincoln School on Thursdays.

HHFD Drills with PA TEB Police
On Saturday, June 28, 2008, the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department participated in a familiarization drill at Teterboro Airport with the Port Authority Police, led by Sergeant Frank S. Jr. Police Academy Starts With a Bang
At the end of June, thirty-three newly graduated eighth graders started their summer off with a bang – literally. These adventurous children comprised the ninth recruit class of the Hasbrouck Heights Junior Police Academy.
