Recreation tidbits...
Autumn Activities

The Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Department under the direction of Danielle Scipioni,
Director of Recreation is pleased to announce the fall programs for 2000.
Senior Citizen Aerobics: Registration for this program will be held on Thursday September
21st from 10:00 a.m. to noon and from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This program is open to all
Hasbrouck Heights senior citizens 60 years age and over. The program is held once a week
in the morning. The cost is $10 per person.
Teenage and Adult Aerobics: Fall program -ages 13 and over as well as adults. This program
is designed to have medium impact aerobics. It is to be held twice a week for six weeks
and the cost is $30.00 per person. Registration will be held on Thursday September21 from
10:00 a.m. to noon and from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30.
Arts and Crafts for children age 5 through 12. Registration will be held on Thursday,
September 28th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This program is held once per week for six weeks. At
each session the children make a new project, which they take home upon completion. Cost
is $25 for the entire six-week session.
Adult Co-Ed Volleyball: for all Hasbrouck Heights men and women ages 18 and over. This
program is held on Wednesday evenings from October through May. You must sign up in the
Recreation Dept. office where you will receive a membership card. There is no charge for
this program.
Basketball for Over 30: for all Hasbrouck Heights men ages 18 and over. This program is
held on Monday evenings from October through May. You must sign up in the Recreation Dept.
office where you will receive a membership card. There is no charge for this program.
Boys and Girls Biddy Basketball: for all children grades 3 through 8. There are two
separate leagues and the participants will have practices and regular scheduled games
against each other. The cost for this program is $35 and includes the entire season as
well as getting a team shirt which they keep. Registration will be held on Thursday,
September 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
JOB OPPORTUNITIES: Applications for part-time jobs are now available and can be obtained
in the Recreation Department office from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Applications are accepted
from age 15 through adults.
Please note: Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Department programs are only open to permanent
Hasbrouck Heights residents, which means they must live in Hasbrouck Heights all year
round. All registration is done in the Recreation Department office, which is on the first
floor of the Municipal Building. For additional information on any programs call the
