Children's Summit II

Children’s Summit II was held at the Hasbrouck Heights Hilton on November 21. The event was hosted by The Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Children’s Summit II was designed to highlight the importance and value of the team approach to establish a meaningful diagnosis, and management plan for children and adolescents. Educators, parents and families were provided tools for enhancing the quality of life for our children.

Summit II's mission was to create systemic awareness about neuroscience and cognitive research and its implications of assisting families, learning institutions, and especially children at risk; to create working partnerships between local schools, hospitals, and social agencies; to emphasize the importance of prevention as a primary step to strategically planning for the next generation of children.

The Summit focused on three important areas of research that impact every child and every citizen: cognitive development, social development and behavioral development.

Participating in the Summit included parents, educators, advocacy agencies, healthcare professionals and community leaders.   Attending from Hasbrouck Heights  were Dr. Roy Perham III, BOE Superintendent Dr. Richard Stepura, Lincoln School Principal Laura Schoen and Child Study Team Director Mrs. Harriet Eisenberg  and BOE member Mrs. Marie Fitzgibbons.
