Summer Rock Concert 2005

A free Summer Concert was held Friday at 7:30 p.m. on May 26 at the Depken Athletic Field and featured "Big Truck Music with Rebecca Frezza" and the Battle of the Band Winners "Stalemate" and "Semper Tyrannies."

The Big Truck Music with Rebecca Frezza performed songs from their award-winning CD's "Road Trip" and "Music in My Heart" which recently won four prestigious awards. Rebecca Frezza is a NJ singer/songwriter. The group bill's itself as Kids Rock -- a refreshing alternative that appeals to young and old alike.  Recent reviews state, "an absolute delight for both kids and parents alike, filled with bouncy, infectious tunes", and "a free-spirited blend of pop, rock, jazz, and more".

Z100 provided a "Down the Clown" ammusement and gave away candy and "T" shirts.  Refreshments and souvenirs were available. Free tattoos and face painting was provided by the Girl Scouts. Additional volunteers included the  HH Parents of Athletes.

The public was welcomed. Lawn seating on the field was permitted.  No back packs or coolers were allowed.  Those under 12 were accompanied by an adult.  The event was sponsored by the Hasbrouck Heights  Municipal Alliance. Substance abuse is a major health problem that puts millions at risk for alcohol and drug related traffic accidents, poor academic and work performance and criminal offences. The Alliances look to educate the community of the negative effects and provide special events to build a stronger community.
