Reorganization
Meeting 2007
On
January 1, 2007 at 11:45 a.m., a Sine Die Meeting was held
to conclude 2006 business.
Councilman
Ronald Kistner and Thomas Meli were presented a Proclamation,
Plaque and Key to Hasbrouck Heights by Mayor Ronald R. Jones.
Councilman Kistner and Meli made departing comments.
The
Mayor and Council conducted business concluding 2006 and adjourned.
The
beginning of the 2007 year began with NJ Senator Joseph Coniglio
administering the Oath of Office to Councilman Anthony DiNanno
while his wife held the bible. NJ Senator Joseph Coniglio
administered the Oath of Office to Councilman Stephen Altobelli
while his wife held the bible. Senator Coniglio, Assemblyman
Gordon and Freeholder Ganz made presentations to Councilmen
DiNanno and Altobelli.
Upon
the seating of the new council member, Mayor Ronald R. Jones
declared the 2007 Reorganization Meeting in session.
The
sunshine Law Statements was recited and roll call made.
There
was a Salute to the Flag, Pledge of Allegiance and an invocation
by the Reverend Lewis V. Papera, Pastor of Corpus Christi
Church.
The
Mayor administered the Oath of Office to Fire Chief Angelo
Roccamo, First Assistant Chief Michael Ratkowski and Second
Assistant Chief Kevin Todd. The Mayor administered the Oath
of Office to 2007 Fire Department Officers.
There
was an announcement of council assignments. The Council elected
Leonard Itrona as their Council President and named Maryetta
Saccamano their representative to the Planning Board.
The
Mayor read a pre-appointment statement. Mayor Jones made his
appointments and requested Council confirmation. The Council
confirmed several, but not all appointments. The council will
make the balance of appointments after the statuary 30 days.
The
Mayor delivered his State of the Borough Address which reviewed
the accomplishments of each department.
Each
Council member then had an opportunity to make their comments.
The
meeting was open to the public for comments.
The
concluding Benediction was provided by The Rev. /Dr. Katherine
Ellison.
The
meeting was adjourned and light refreshments were served in
the Senior Center. ###
