NJ Secretary of Agriculture
Charles Kuperus Visits Hasbrouck Heights Farmers’ Market
The 8th Annual Farmers’ Market began on June 17th with
a visit from NJ Secretary of Agriculture Charles M. Kuperus.
The Secretary discussed produce with the Hasbrouck Heights market
original farmer, George Asprocolas, of Asprocolas Acres in Millstone
Township.
Secretary Kuperus spoke with every vendor. He also made a purchase
from each -- refusing plastic bags and placing each purchase
in a “Farmer’s Market” canvas bag, commenting
on “going green initiatives.”
The Secretary visited the new “Farmers’
Market Bus,” exclaiming this innovation is a NJ Farmers’
Market first! The Farmer’s Market (and bus) will continue
every Tuesday from Noon to 6:00 p.m. until late September, at
the corner of The Boulevard and Washington Place. ###
