HHFD Memorial Day Service 2008
Following the Hasbrouck Heights Memorial Day Veterans ceremony,
the parade continued along Passaic Avenue to the Firemen’s
Memorial at The Circle for a brief service. The National Anthem
was played by the Hasbrouck Heights High School Band. Fire Department
Chaplain Rev. Joseph Pickard, Vicar at St. John the Divine,
gave the Invocation. Fire Chief Michael Ratkowski made comments.
Lt. Michael Thomasey read the names of deceased firefighters
-- with the tolling of the Memorial Bell. Mayor Rose Marie Heck
and Fire Commissioner David Gonzalez spoke. ###
