265 Ribbons Provide Over 1,000 Meals for the Hungry

Bill O’Shea’s Florist sponsored a "Buy a Ribbon and Feed The Hungry" program during the Holidays. Over 265 ribbons were purchased, and this translated to over 1,000 meals being donated to Eva’s Kitchen in Paterson, NJ.

Bill O’Shea’s Florist provided a beautiful red ribbon with the contributor’s name on it. The ribbons were placed on every tree and telephone pole along the Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights -- from Route 46 to Wood-Ridge. Ribbons were placed beginning Thanksgiving Day, and remained until Valentines Day. Ribbon was donated by the Lion Ribbon Company.

The new dining hall at Eva’s Kitchen accommodates 240 people in one sitting and is a mecca to the poor and hungry who gather daily for a hot meal, served by volunteers, at a table with dignity. The kitchen operates 365 days a year and is supported by more than 400 volunteers, 110 churches and civic organizations. More than 2 million meals have been provided since opening in 1981.

Bill O’Shea’s Florist is located At the Circle, in Hasbrouck Heights. Established in 1969, they are celebrating their 30th Anniversary. For additional information, please call 201-288-2300.
